The days are getting longer, the sun has made a couple of appearances of late and as I write I can hear the birds chirping outside my window which can only mean one thing... spring has finally sprung! And what better way to elevate your mood - and your home - than by lighting a fresh seasonal candle.
If you're a self confessed candle obsessive like me, you'll agree they are a year round staple and not just for the winter months... lighting the right candle can instantly change the atmosphere in your home and consequently, your mood, so read on for some of my favourite springtime scents.
No. 01 | The White Company Amalfi Lemon
Presented in the signature White Company clear glass jar with minimalist monochrome branding, this relatively new scent is both fresh and uplifting.
With notes of zesty lemon, warming cedarwood and delicate jasmine blossom, this scent is intended to be 'reminiscent of a beautiful Mediterranean coastline' and I kind of get that... it reminds me of warm sunny evenings in the countryside when the light is fading. Love it!
No. 02 | NEOM Feel Refreshed
NEOM candles are always impressively powerful (the kind you can smell as you open the box!) and this one is no exception.
As the name suggests, Feel Refreshed is an uplifting and energising scent which according to the official blurb, blends 14 essential oils including zingy Sicilian lemon and earthy basil to create a mood booster which will put a little extra spring in your step.

No. 03 | Ivy & Willow Botanicals Spa Day
If you're ready to welcome the joys of spring but the British weather is dampening your vibe, light this candle to lift your spirits... it's the candle equivalent of a bracing walk to blow away the cobwebs!
Recently relaunched with a new name and simple, classic look, Ivy & Willow Botanicals (previously Orchard Candle Co) is a small independent business and as you know, I'm all for supporting the little guys... their Havana Cuban Oak & Tobacco scent is another of my year round favourites.
No. 04 | Plum & Ashby Geranium and Orange
I'm not usually a fan of floral scents (I clearly remember an unfortunate migraine situation brought about by a certain Peony scented candle!) but there's something nostalgic about this scent from Plum & Ashby.
It reminds me of hot summer holidays spent in the countryside as a child... it's refreshing and sweet but also earthy and rustic. Apparently, it's inspired by English country gardens, humid greenhouses and sun baked terracotta pots which if you want to be poetic about it, is pretty spot on!
No. 05 | The White Company Tuscan Grove
Inspired by beautiful Tuscany where I was lucky enough to get married a few years ago, this new fragrance from The White Company ticks all the spring/summer scent boxes as far as I'm concerned.
It's designed to make you feel like you're relaxing under the shade of an orange tree in the Tuscan countryside, as the blossom sways in the breeze... it's fresh and uplifting but also warm, the perfect mix of citrus and floral which transports you to a hazy garden in the sleepy Italian hills.
If you try any of these scents, I'd love to know what you think!
